Dear Neighbor:

My name is Richard Thomas and I am running for the New York State Senate seat, for the 23^rd Senatorial District which encompasses the North Shore of Staten Island and a portion of Brooklyn, which includes Coney Island, Boro Park, Sunset Park and Brighton Beach.

I have been a Staten Island resident all my life; know the issues of the people, raised in the North Shore of Staten Island, Educated in the Public School system, and Raised four children along with my wife Illona of 41 years.

My education was completed at Columbia University, Graduate School of Architecture where I graduated with honors.

While living in the North Shore, I have been mentoring teenagers over the last twenty years about the importance of becoming good citizens. I have also involved myself in civic duties. Was on the board of directors at Snug Harbor. I am a member of the Staten Island Charter Commission, being appointed by the late Senator Marino at the recommendation of Senator John Marchi.

I now want to give back to Staten Island’s North Shore and Brooklyn where so much was afforded me, by having the opportunity to represent you in the New York State Senate. Thank you so much for your consideration in this endeavor.
